Our Highlights from 2024

A Year of Innovation, Collaboration, and Impact

Welcome to our final newsletter of 2024! This year has been an exciting journey for the TransEET project, with events spanning across Europe. From engaging workshops to cutting-edge research presentations, we have strengthened collaboration and contributed to advancing STEAM education.

Network activities

In addition to our monthly online meetings in our five communities of interest (CoIs) we managed to have two in-person meetings in Amsterdam and Torino which we used for exciting twinning workshops. 🧑‍🏫

The workshops in March were hosted by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences where we explored prototypes and technologies used in any of the five CoIs. In November, we visited the Università degli Studi di Torino where we focused on the connections between Mathematics learning, dance and creativity. We also took the opportunity for some of the members to meet in person and organise hybrid inter-CoI meetings around the time of the GAME conference in Rome and the WAAE Summit in Athens to bridge the time between the twinning workshops.

Throughout those activities, we were able to discuss, exchange and evolve nearly 50 prototypes of lesson activities within and across the different communities of interest. 🔄

Staff Exchange & Webinars

This year we also had the privilege of getting input from many external experts from very different fields. This has also enriched the work in the consortium by bringing in new perspectives on creativity, emerging technologies, diversity, inclusion and different project administration best practices. 🤝

Additionally, some of our members visited other partners’ institutions for staff exchange activities to gain and share knowledge and experience. The activities ranged from maker education using fabric printers in Amsterdam to theoretical considerations of teacher education in Turin with many more exciting exchanges in-between.

Talks, Workshops & Conferences

The consortium also shared the project outputs and ideas at teacher events, conferences and in online live-streams. We are especially proud of more than 20 contributions in the form of posters, workshops and presentations at various conferences in 2024. These contributions not only gave us the chance to share what we have done but more importantly gave us valuable feedback from a diverse international audience interested in Education, Mathematics, Arts and Technology. 💬

The NeMAST

In November, we were excited to launch the Network-knowledge Management, Administration and Science Toolkit (NeMAST) 🧰.

This open toolkit will grow and develop throughout the project to provide researchers with clear guidelines on scientific networking, project management and sustainable exploitation of digital artefacts with emerging technologies in education.
To facilitate this toolkit and to update our online content to higher web accessibility standards we relaunched our website in a completely new design and structure. 🚀

The TransEET consortium wishes you happy holidays and a wonderful start into the new year. ✨
