Our second Community of Interest investigates the theme of “Designs for Authorable Learning Analytics”. Even though the use of technology and the list of community members are very similar to CoI1, there is a clear differentiation in terms of the research focus.
While CoI1 (which we covered last week) focuses on the student experience, CoI2 focuses on the educator experience. Using learning analytics tools and concepts, the researchers investigate possible ways of supporting educators to better understand their students’ individual learning journeys and needs. This in turn could help educators in giving the optimal support to students despite the many challenges they face in the classroom.
