Our fifth and final Community of Interest (CoI) has the most inherently interdisciplinary focus of our CoIs with the short title โMath and Danceโ.
In a small-scale research project, we aim to create educational activities combining dance and mathematics by augmenting established technologies from mathematics education with motion tracking and pose detection.
Our goal is to find ways to improve studentsโ motivation and learning of mathematics or dance by making mathematics concepts used in dance more explicit and by helping them make new embodied connections to mathematical concepts.
๐ขMALT2 – ‘Machine Lab Turtlesphere’ allows students to tinker with logo commands, see the graphical representations of the results in a 3-dimensional microworld and manipulate them with sliders enabling a dynamic experience.
๐ GeoGebra is a set of graphing calculators and tools, which educators can use to develop interactive applets to visualise and manipulate graphical representations of mathematical concepts. To learn more about the TransEET network and the toolkit we are developing for academic collaboration, follow us on social media or visit our website at transeet.eu.
